I was lucky - I got three of the slants off of e-bay about a year back. They are wonderful shavers. The value has definitely gone up in the last year.
For "collectors' market", that's probably about right. Having said that, I've seen lots of split barrels, like the old Gillettes, and the heads are zinc, so unless I had some 1950-1960(or earlier) Hoffritz knives, watches, or other razors, I wouldn't pay more than $75. You're buying the name...
Are you specifically wanting a Hoffritz Slant? I found a Merkur Slant and case on ebay for under 50. As far as I know the only difference is the name. I am happy with mine.

I have two and neither are above user grade. I think the most I paid for was $86. I love them and am going to keep the best of the two, but having a hard time listing either of them. They are great razors.
