Hoarder Syndrome

OK...somebody call the men in the white jackets for me. While packing up items to prepare for a move at the end of the month to a new house, I came across boxes that I had packed away over 2 years ago following my divorce and the move to Florida. I am one of those people who actually move things and never unpack except for the most vital items initially. Well after 2 years in my condo, it was time to purge as many things as possible as I really wanted to start fresh this move and get rid of most everything that I had hung onto for whatever reason. So I open a large box that still had newsprint stuffing inside dated July 2007 so I knew exactly what it was!

My secret Gillette DE stash that I had spirited away from rural Indiana a couple months before my divorce was final. I had acquired them, some on ebay, some at antique stores, all in all a time capsule of my RAD when it was really gripping me. So I spent the early part of the evening admiring them... contemplating perhaps even using them... selling them? It really brought back memories to when B&B and all things shaving were fresh to me.

For those voyeurs.... the box contained:

A Faux Crocodile Cased Gillette Milord
Gillette "Big Fellow" in Wooden Box/Case
1930's Gillette NEW Cased
British Gillette #58

I know about the hoarder problem. I call it saving for a rainy day syndrome, seems I keep lots of stuff that should just be sold or tossed in trash. You would have no problem selling those on BST here or ebay as that is a nice "hoard lot"

You didn't consider unpacking DE's 'vital'?!??!

I'm going to use the British #58 tomorrow.

Also...gents...this is not a thread advertising a future sale but rather a thread to show how things once were for me. Sooooooooo many razors....soooooooooo little time.

I used the British Gillette #58 for the first time this morning after discovering it hidden away in my "stash". It was a really great shave...well balanced and perfect fixed blade exposure. Now I know why so many guys that own them love this razor.
