History of Artist's Club?

I'm new to Artists Club - using a RazoRock Hawk V3, and I'm embarrassed to admit it took me a bit to realize the variations in blades are planned, intentional, and documented - for example, on the Feather web site. I guess the semi-randomness of the double-edge blade world influenced me.

Is there documentation available on the history and philosophy of the Artist Club system? Was it invented by Feather (lots of places talk about "Feather Artist Club") and then Kai and Schick joined in, or was it an industry standard? How long has it been around? And so forth.

I saw this on the Kai group's website. It looks like they are the parent company of Feather.
