I've been posting, and decided I'd better do an intro, finally.

I've been a cartridge shaver most of my life (Trac II, since around age 16), with occasional electric dalliances. My wife bought a mint 1940s Valet dopp kit for me for Christmas- and the bug bit me hard! I'm not a "serious" collector, nor a total "user", so I'm interested in the clean, useable vintage razors, SE and DE.

I'm having fun cleaning up my new (to me) Fatboys and Gems, and pondering how far I'm going to go in restoration...

Welcome 2 B&B! Don't get rid of that Trac II. Put it in your rotation later after you gain some confidence with your DEs. You might be amazed how much better the Trac II is when incorpoprating your DE technique and prep.
