What's new

Hey folks, I am brand new here. Question!

I have the Van Der Hagan set that you can get at wal-mart, and recently, my sister-in-law made me a cake of shave soap to my special order. It is a blend of Cedar, Sage, and Sweetgrass, and it is chock full of moisturizer. It felt so good after the first few shaves, I felt it was a waste to just rinse my brush, so after shaving, I brush down my whole face. My skin is much smoother. Is this a newby thing, or is it wiered? :)

I now also know what this acquisition disorder is that you all speak of. I am now interested in trying Tabac, but no one sells it locally to my knowledge. I hate to buy it and not like it, so if anyone has some laying around, and would like to send me a sample, I would be glad to send back a cake of "Native" soap. It can be cream, or cake. I don't mind either....

Now, I also have my eye on a DE razor, and a new brush... oh! And a scuttle.... and I also need a...... >.<

Keep active, buy tabac online, and if you hate it, sell it back on bst when you are able.
Other honorable mentions would be Martin De Candre, Razorock, and Cella

Support small soap artisans: mikes natural, qcs, mystic,etc...

I have learned that you invest money but you can get most of it back by selling or trading on here.

Welcome to B&B

Welcome Marty, glad you decided to join. Purchasing your shaving supplies online is the best route. I know most would prefer to handle/smell/compare in person, the market is just not there (yet). Also, while your trade offer is generous, B&B rules prohibit trades outside of the Buy Sell Trade Forum.

Be sure to introduce yourself over in the Newbie Check-in, and let us know what razor/brush you get.

Maybe your sister in law would be interested in joining the Hobbyist group, there are a few craft soap makers there.

Welcome, and enjoy your shaves. I'm new myself, but one thing you may want to do is control your variables, so perhaps stay with the soap that's working well while you try out a razor and blades. If you change everything every couple of days, you might have a hard time discerning what works well and what doesn't.
