I make regular treks from the NW corner of Iowa to Wapakoneta, Cridersville down to Indian Lake/Russel's Point. My wife was born and raised there and all her family still lives through that area. 13.5 hour drive but it makes the in law's happy when I bring their grandkids out.

I moved from New England to Dayton for work 16 years ago. There are indeed some lovely people in SW Ohio, but I believe that if God ever decided the world needed an enema He'd stick the bottle right in the middle of Dayton.
