What's new

Henson Razor Club.

When I had the Ti22, my razor developed water spots on the base plate and top cap. How do your razors look? Henson support told me that wiping the razor with a cloth should be done with the grain. I'm wondering how you approach caring for your Ti's.
I dissemble mine and completely dry each piece after every use and let stand with the handle loose so air can circulate. Every so often I use a microfiber cloth and mild dish soap to wash each part then dry.

I remember that. So far, I haven’t seen anything similar on my two Ti’s, but I will double-check and report back here when I get home this evening.

I don’t do anything differently than with other razors or materials. I clean them under running water after every shave, sometimes drying the top and base with a bath cloth, without paying particular attention to the grain. If I see any accumulation when I change the blade, I use a toothbrush. Nothing else.

You might remember that some time ago I scratched one of the caps, and I quickly fixed it with a kitchen sponge. I’ve noticed a couple of very light scratches lately on the mild one, so I may do the treatment again, but they’re barely visible.

As a side note, the brush in the picture is your fault! I had the CH2 platinum, but I didn’t like it at all and gave it away after a few shaves. However, due to your positive experience, I think I hadn’t given it enough time, so I decided to try again with the CH3 this time and see if the fibers soften with use, as they did with yours.

Thank you for sharing the details!
As for your side note, we’re all enablers here!
How do you like the CH3? Once my CH2 broke in, I went from to trying to like to actually enjoying using it. I received a PM last week that it found a home in Brazil. The winner of the PIF has a US address and then forwarded it to Brazil. It took like four months for it to arrive!

So the USPS was kind enough to deliver my Henson razor on monday, only took 10 days to get from Indy to Michigan.

I wanted the first shave to be with a new blade, but I'm in the OBIF currently so I passed. Had to shave tonight and I figured that the 7 O'Clock yellow with 5 priors is still probably better than the RK that they send with the razor...and I'm not gonna wait 2 more weeks to shave with a new razor ... so I loaded it up !

I'm very impressed ! This was the best & easiest shave I've gotten since I started DE shaving a year ago.

Has anyone ever cut themselves with one of these ?
You would really have to try hard !!

I am on the lookout for one of the alu ones, either a mild or a medium? I generally like milder razors, like Overlander, GC 68 SB and OC, Masamune SB and OC, Karve CB with SB-C or OC-B. Which one of these 2 would you suggest? I am mostly an every-other-day shaver...

Thanks!

Congrats on the new Henson! They like sharper blades, in my experience, so you may want to try something sharper than a 7oclock yellow.

Both are great. I'd say the medium. They are both great, the medium is just a bit more efficient and no more aggressive.

Thank You, once I get through the "One Blade in February" deal I'll run some others.

I got the shave I've been looking for with that old yellow 7:00. I shaved with one the RK's a while ago in a DE89 and it sucked.

Has anyone heard of any thread problems with these razors, like corroding or anything?

Just wondering, as that is the only weak point I could see with an aluminum razor.

Today was shave 1212 with Henson Razors and I've never encountered any issues with threads. Every now and then I add a little food grade mineral to the threads.
