I have a bunch of razors but most of them just sit there. The Henson is what I turn to most often. I could be good with that alone. Got a great shave with the Henson and a Nacet blade.

Just shaved with the Aluminum +++ for the first time. Pleasantly surprised, I am not a fan of the mild Henson, but received an efficient and close shave with the aggressive. I did nick myself once, but no irritation. I suspect after a few more shaves my technique will improve and I won't have to worry about nicks.The Henson razors are a favorite for a lot of people these days.

I only head shave with mine, but tried the Nacet in it and was quite impressed with the performance. Just a bit sharper/smoother than a 7 O’clock yellow and doesn’t give me nicks like the polsilver SI does on my head (great on my face though). Might be the best headshaving combo.
My favorite blade to pair with my Henson Mild is a Gillette Perma-Sharp. Anyone else use these?
I think this is going to really be a super YMMV type of thing. I love Permasharps in slants and open combs on my face. My Henson is strictly a headshaver and I found the Permasharps a little rough in contrast to Nacets or 7 O’clock yellows for the job. I‘ve got a nice variety of blades I can approach without biased so it’s good to try a variety if you can. I had issues for years with open combs (on my face) until I tried Permasharps. The Henson is so mild, even in the aggressive form, that I can easily use feathers with it for face shaving. However, I can still get a closer shave with any super speed with less effort.
I love my Henson medium for headshaving, I struggle with my vintage gillettes there. However, for my face, any vintage Gillette except for all variants of the old type are easier for me.
So rock those Permasharps
Henson razors get the most out of blades for me. IMO they work best with a sharper blade, especially the mild and medium. Perma-Sharps are my favorite as well, Nacets are great too.
Yes. I also like Sharp Titanium/Loi Titanium in the Henson Mild even though they’re objectively duller than a Perma-Sharp.
I’ve never tried either of these titanium blades. They sound interesting. I’ll have to add them to the list. Thanks!

The Henson is one of my favorites but I just had a shave with the Cyber razor medium and it seemed even more efficient with the same smoothness and ease of use. Need to compare further. And, I love the cerakota handle.

I didn’t bond with my Henson AL13+, too inconsistent. I tend to like a milder shave, yet even so, it didn’t go well for me.

AL13 seems to be one of those razors that's more sensitive to blade selection, heavily favoring sharp blades, in this case.
If you don't mind me asking, in what way did you find it inconsistent?
I am sure it was operator error, but I couldn’t maintain its required angle consistently throughout my full head shave. For me it seemed complicated in certain areas. I didn’t have similar issues with several other razors I tried. I could stick with it and eventually I might get it down, but I decided not to.

I didn't get good shaving results at all with the mild or medium Henson (the aggressive is passable), but for me the Blackbird is far better by a substantial margin. Just my experience though. I know a lot of people get great results with the Henson and I'm happy for it! The Blackbird might be a great fit for those that tried the Henson and didn't get along with it.
