I have a new Henckel carbon steel (non-vintage) that I am using. While I am a beginner, I am quickly amassing razors and the Henckel continues to be a favourite. It is a great shaver.
I'd also love to find a Henckel DE. I have one of their vintage straights (good razor) and a few of their kitchen knives. I'm a fan of the brand, but their DEs don't seem to be easily found.
If you are new, buy vintage. Cheaper (money-wise), and excellent quality, often better "fit and finish" than modern razors. You can also buy one shave-ready from an experienced member here. Older Henckels are tremendous razors. If you are new, I'd recommend Proraso shaving cream and Tabac shaving soap.
