Found this little fella today in an antique shop. No identifying numbers. In my quick research it looks like a Gillette "New". Am I correct? For $12 I took it home and gave it a bath.
No, the NEW would be an open-comb razor. What you've got there is a ball-end Tech. The triangular holes in the guard plate would indicate that the head, at least, is from an early one -- they changed to straight slots sometime near the end of WWII. The handle may or may not be original to the head. It's not impossible, but it's also not terribly "usual" to see that style handle on an older head.
The case is from a much older Standard Set -- a No.460B set to be specific -- though, obviously, it's been gutted of its interior. (Click the image below to see a larger version.)
