Help with feather artist club

I just had my first real shave with a no folding artist club razor. I got no irritation but after two passes I had a lot of stubble left. I could see stubble in my lather so I know it was taking some off just not much. I've been told to keep the razor flat against your face just enough angle to cut. Is this so? Should I try a little steeper angle for a closer shave? Thanks

A steeper angle might help, but just keep the pressure light. Sounds like you are off to a good start!

As was said, if it ain't chopping then increase the angle a tad. Don't scrape hard else your lather will turn pink. I use some fairly drastic angles on my chin, under my nose, on my jaw line on wtg passes, but I go easy and don't try to dig for oil.

If you have stubble, then you are doing it wrong - the Feather blades will cut through just about anything. Having said that, going easy like you did gives you a great start - you know what doesn't work. Experience is a great teacher.

Having said THAT, I will often have slight stubble on a two pass shave if I don't do an atg - even with a Feather.

Having said THAT, it is easy to think you need to do another pass and get a razor burn if you go after an area that is already clean.

I use about the same angle as with my straights. In your case a bit of stubble left is better then to cut yourself. Like others replied adjust the angle until you get the best results, after a few shaves it will come naturally and the results will be a lot better. I use the feather (and kai) razors a lot and I get a very good shave with a 2 pass on the face and a one pass on my head.

Thanks for the replies! I used my feather dx for some touch up after a DE shave and found that increasing the angle just a bit makes a huge difference! Smooth as butta!

I'll often do just this same thing. Since I only shave 2 or 3 times a week, I find using this combination results in an excellent shave.
