Help picking new small brush

I just got rid of my old edwin jagger brush in favor of a wee scot. While it does do a sufficient job creating enough lather for my two passes, the second application to my face seems to be very thin. It also seems that it is too stiff to allow me to paint the lather on my face for full coverage. I have areas where there isn't a good cover of lather no matter how gently I brush.
I had considered a SR 3118, but I am worried that will be too scrubby as well.

I would like a smaller brush (knot 18-21mm) since I only do two passes and don't need a ton of lather. I also would like to spend $100 or less. Appearance of the handle isn't really an issue.

Thanks in advance.

I find my SR 3118 to have backbone but with soft tips. I personally do not find it to feel scrubby in the least. Great brush, great value, and if buying from Charles at QED, a great vendor. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Im considering the Vulfix 513B Pure Badger, its a 80mm brush in height, 40mm Loft and 19mm knot. Looks like a great little face latherer :wink2:

Currently i am using a Vulfix 404 Bristle/Badger mix, does a great job with soaps and creams... Its quite cheap!

I sold my EJ brush because it was too big. I found that I had a ton of lather left over and I wanted something that I could easier control.

+1 . . . The Savile Row 3118 is a very nice little brush. I use several good brushes in something of a rotation, but I find I'm inclined to use this one more than most any of the others.

Regards,
Tom

Ditto. The 3118 is a fantastic choice, for all of the reasons noted above.
