Help needed identifying shaving hones in the wild

Doesn't look anything like Japanese to me, looks like petrified wood as @Joshua223 said. Which can be a decent razor finisher, IIRC some of the Panama barber hones had a petrified wood side. I’d pass unless he has a full refund offer, and even if it is is usable petrified wood or agate, at that price it’s not really a bargain.
