Help me pick a scuttle

Looked for the mug/scuttle section but I guess these is none. No love for the pottery creations or not enough interest? Anyway...
Please help me pick a scuttle. I am sure there will be some that say this one is the best or that one is the best, I am looking for several priorities in that order:
1. Bowl size, like large bowls, diameter as well as depth.
2. Price, definitely important but not to the point of buying something crappy in order to save a few bucks.
3. Temperature, the longer it keeps it warm, obviously, the better.
4. The looks, not really important but if it comes down to it, I will pick the better looking one.

And my top 3 are:

1.5 scuttle from the Dirty Bird

G20 from Georgetown Pottery

Scuttle stock number 008 from Robert's Feats of Clay

I have the Georgetown Pottery scuttle. The reason I chose it was because it looked more refined than others available. I also like included stopper which, for me, makes it easier to dump out the warming water in the bowl after I soak my brush.

I have the cobalt/purple G5 from Georgetown and love it. I think you will love the G20 as well. Very well made and the colors are awesome!

Unfortunately, I ordered a G5 RIGHT before they came out with the G20. The quality is excellent and they're great folks to deal with, I was a liitle disappointed with the size. I would have preferred it to be bigger. Although its's probably a little big for travel use, I'm probably going to use it as my "travel scuttle." The G20 looks like they've fix my concerns and I might just have to add it to my "wish list." On another note, I have been using a SWK XL scuttle for a little over a month and couldn't be happier!!! It's a little "pricey," but will keep my lather warm for FOUR passes with hot tap water. I'm sure all three scuttles your considering are great and you'll be happy with any of them. I've looked at all the scuttles you mention, but decided on the SWK because of color and design. I really like the looks of the SWK and the matching soap lid is outstanding! As always, YMMV, I believe you can't go wrong with any of those.

Arrrr... Wish I could try them all! Maybe I will... Start with DB and if I don't like it move on to something else! Thanks everyone for your input.

Ordered my DB 1.0 April 25th hoping it gets shipped soon!
It took me forever to choose a scuttle but ended up with the DB because of the constant great reviews and Julie is wonderful to deal with

While it is a pleasure to use and generates a ton of fun-filled lather, I'm finding the DB 1.5 a bit on the large side.

WOW! That's putting it in perspective... I've almost decided and now this:lol:
Before you make change your mind check out Brucered's videos on Youtube of him using a DB 1.5. It doesn't look near as big on his counter as it does on mine.

Having a grand old time with a 001 scuttle in "fudge marble" from Robert Becker. The unit holds a whopping 24 ounces of water, which, after three minutes in the microwave will keep your lather piping hot through the most leisurely shave imaginable.

His scuttles may lack the uniform elegance of Georgetown's, but they are all one-of-a-kind, and very, very handsome. (I keep mine in the kitchen, where it looks like a teapot.) The "fudge marble" finish on mine is almost a bit of trompe l'oeil--a visual pun of white spots that look all the world like bits of lather.

Mine has a big well, but because of its taper, it can accommodate small amounts of lather with no problem. The well is also nicely striated to give your brush something to "bounce" on when whipping.

Robert is great to deal with, and his pricing (I paid $24 for my scuttle, plus $3 for a lid, as I recall) is astonishing. Definitely put him on your list to consider.

I got a Georgetown G5 in hamada and persimmon this past Christmas. I love it. 1 min 45 s in the microwave gives me water hot enough to submerge my bottle of pre-shave oil for a heat-up and still have plenty of heat left for to soak my brush and complete a three or four pass shave. On particularly cold mornings, I put the G5 on a cheap electric mug warmer I usually use for my coffee.

I looked at DB and Robert's, too, before I chose the G5. I spent a loooong time agonizing over the decision. For me, the look of the G5 won out over the other choices. I don't think you can go wrong with any of those three, though.

Robert wins on the price by a mile. It looks like a good scuttle to start with, it would be ideal though to not have to jump from one to the other and be happy on the first shot:001_smile
How much is it to ship from Robert's, couldn't find it on his website?
