Help me make a wishlist

So, my generous mother-in-law is inquiring what I would like for Christmas this year. I really want a pen and some inks. However, whatever I put on my wishlist, she will probably buy, and I don't want to get crazy. I would like a pen and some inks (maybe a sampler?) since I don't have any. But I would like to keep the cost to around $50-60 before shipping. What I'd LOVE is the B&B limited edition for $69.50, but I would feel bad asking for inks as well. I don't mind a "cheapie" option like Preppies or something similar. If you guys had to pick 1 pen and some ink to come in around this price range ($50-60), what would it be?

Caveat: For simplicity it's best for the entire order to come from the same website (If it's Goulet, I'm going to tell her to ask for a Christmas drawing on the invoice :001_tt2:).

Both of these can be purchased at Goulet:

Twsbi Diamond 540 with Fine Nib $50 + Diamine Sargasso Sea or Denim $12.75

You will love the fill mechanism on the Twsbi. You may even want an Extra Fine nib. The fine nib is more like a fine/medium. IMHO, Diamine inks are the best.

Option 2: Also available at Goulet

Platinum Plaisir with fine nib $22 + platinum converter $7.50 + Diamine ink $12.75

The Plaisir (and the Preppys) write exceptionally well. I like the fine nib. Be sure to get the converter. And once again Diamine inks are the best.

I'm only recommending stuff I have and enjoy.

Goulet has some really nice ink sampler packages including one for Diamine inks that includes 10 of their most popular colors for $11.25. You could then ask for a Pilot Metropolita, Lamy Safari, Lamy Al-Star, or any other pens in that price range. Be sure that you get the converter for any of the pens that require one to use bottle ink.

Lets not forget West Coast Shaving. PR inks, Plaiser, and Retro Tornado pens. Also can add your shaving stuff. True one stop shopping.

I knew I was making a huge mistake posting this question on B&B. Nothing but a bunch of darn enablers you lot are! :cursing:

Are the Plaiser pens able to be converted to eyedropper? That's the thing I like most about the preppy. Goulet will even do it for you for $2.

The retro tornado's have a sweet schmidt nib. The only problem with them they are cart only. Of course that is not a problem if you refill your carts.
