Help me identify these slants?

I picked up two unmarked bakelite slants this past week and neither look like anything I've seen before. The brown one has no markings at all, and the black one has a number 4 printed on the inside of the cap between the screw post and stud. Any ideas?

The black one looks like a French type slant......Hold on, I'm going to check on the 1,000's of unnamed lookalike alike slants out in the wild. This my take awhile since they don't have any markings or a case. It is like trying to identify a car stripped of all its badge and details, very difficult. I sometimes confuse a KIA to a high end European sports car until i get closer and see the name plate.:confused1

Point taken. I don't know if I'm just reading into your comment too much, but it seems overly aggressive and snarky. I made a post asking B&B and the wealth of knowledge the its users bring to the site to look at a set of pictures and see if they know anything about them. I realize unmarked razors can be difficult or impossible to ID, and that's exactly why I brought them here.

I assure you Alex will be one of the first people to help you identify something. He isn't snarky, even if it came across that way. He is a wealth of razor knowledge. What he means is that he will study the pictures to find any identifying markings or build style he can match up to. The brown one does look like it has a steeper angle, possibly being a super slant, but hard to tell.

Okay, I didn't think he was being serious about looking over the thousands of slants, so it sounded sarcastic to me. I apologize to Alex for misinterpreting your post and responding inappropriately. I can post a picture of the brown one along side a Fasan super slant if you are curious.

I have the brown one, and Wait's Compendium has at least 3 entries for an identical razor (all of them in white).
The first's brand name is "Hobby", in Germany. The second's brand name is "Neon" or "Neo Super", in Italy. The third's brand name is "Vis", unknown. It would appear that these were made by a third party for others to sell under their own brands, so without a case, you probably can't narrow it down.

Wow thanks for all the info! I actually bought Wait's Compendium a couple years ago, and when I Google'd it, the razor emporium link was purple. I had forgotten all about it, because I couldn't figure out how to organize the files into a usable document. Just figured it out now though.

I guess I'm just going to have to buy another one with a case when [if] I find one!

Which? I have all of my slants posted in "my images."
I have slowly been converting my more common razors into money for a "buy all the slants" fund.

I like them all, but mainly looking for a Super Slant and an OC Slant, preferably 3 piece metal. These are apparently very hard to find.

I've yet to find a metal 3 piece. I saw a cased Hoffritz Super Slant on ebay about a month ago, it went for close to $200. My Raadvad OC slant is bent slightly, and gives a terrible shave. I haven't mustered up the courage to attempt to bend the baseplate back...

I lucked into an ebay 3pm EST Monday end time Hoffritz travel slant for @$45 a few months back and couldn't be happier. Now I am spoiled. I do like the weight of metal but have never used a bakelite razor. Thanks again for the pics.

It is Ok, I should have been more precise on the comment. It was late and I took some allergy meds that made me groggy and sleepy. I did not realize that I may have posted with out much regard to your valid interest on these razors. I am glad that we have many other well informed members that may have stepped in and compensated for my lack luster and uninformative post. You are a valued member here at B&B ( as are our other members too) . I apologize too.

Great work, I agree too that with out a case some razor can be difficult to identify, but Waits Compendium has some reliable references.
