Help me get rid of a cream: Omega vs JM Fraser's polar ice

Ok, so I'm trying to figure out which cream to let go as they both pretty much fall on the same category (great performance, workhorse, fragrance free (for the most part), inexpensive, etc.) I've used both around 5-6 times and lately I'm alternating daily between the two -the day before yesterday was JM, then yesterday Omega and today I went back to JM- to try to figure out which one to sell or trade.

Round 1: Size & price

This might be a moot point as both are pretty much priced very similarly and competitively, Omega tub is 5 oz for around $7 and JM Fraser's 8 oz for around $12, which by the oz there's a 10 cent difference, lol.

Round 2: Scent

I think both fall under the category of fragrance-free and pretty much let out the natural smell of their ingredients, I could be wrong (and especially on the JM) and if so please correct me, but the Omega smells like menthol and eucalyptus but very faint, well, you can smell it for sure but it's not in your face... it's like Vicks vaporub but way less pronounced.

JM smells very faint as well and it's like something medicinal or like hospital, I cant really describe it but that's the only words that I can use to describe JM Fraser's polar ice smell, lol.

I'm neither going to bat for, nor claiming I like either "scent." They're both meh to me in that department.

Round 3: Latherability & performance

Both lather wonderfully and perform great. I get great shaves out of these creams easily and constantly.

Round 4: Packaging

They both come in cheap looking tubs; the Omega comes in those regular black snap on tubs that the lower razor rock line uses and JM Frasers comes in a tall white plastic tub with a screw on cap.

I dont know what other rounds to add, lol... thanks ahead of time for any input.

Ship them over to me, they'll both be gone. Problem SOLVED.

I've never tried either so I can't actually be of help, sorry!

I'd keep the screw on lid because I like the idea of that better.

Word to the wise, I've sold many products because I didn't want them at the time.... and I've regretted it every time!
Whichever you sell or trade, within a month you'll be missing it and find yourself surfing to WCS to check prices for a new tube :)

Sure... send me something in return... we'll call it a trade, lol...

Thanks for the input, but they're both so similar though.

I like the smell of Vick's.

Keep the Omega and get rid of the Polar Ice.

I just dont know, the omega is a little more pleasant I guess.

Decisions, decisions.

From my understanding JM Fraser has discontinued making all of their creams except for Jake(?) and Original. I would say to hold on to the JM Fraser and get rid of the Omega. If you find yourself hunting for one or the other in the future Omega will be easy to find but Polar Ice will be unobtainium.

Well, I think that's a great -actually, the strongest- point. I'm still testing and I really cant tell them apart performance wise.

I'd keep the Omega. It's the one soap I PIF'd that I really wished I still had later on.

Lol...

Six months from now you will be PM'ing a Mod asking to change your username to "OmegaPolarice#1fan"

(Really, unless you actually dislike one enough to want to get rid of it, why not just keep them both? So what if they last you the next ten years?)

lmao...

It's just that they're both so similar... it's almost like owning RR cacao (or classic) and Cella at the same time... you couldnt really call that a rotation, lol.

I think I know what I'm going to do, I'll let fate decide: Next time someone wants to trade something I'll offer both of these up as a possible trade.

I myself like the Omega enough that I decided to grab another tub after only using it 2 or 3 weeks. I haven't even dented the first one.

It's a real good cream.

If your Omega tub has menthol, it is also discontinued. Thats a tough call. I enjoy both. I say keep both.

Just looked over the ingredients and it doesnt have menthol.

It's definitely a tough call... Im thinking of just offering both as a trade and let the other party pick one, so I'd keep the other or keep the JM and trade the Omega since it's still available.
