Help me build a 7 day rotation of watches

Now I have become interested in automatic watches my plan in 2011 is to build a nice 7 day rotation of watches. I plan on selling a few straight razors and all my citizen Eco-drives and Chinese made homage watches to purchase 3 more watches to round out my collection.

Right now I have:

1) Invicta 9937C - a classic sub homage. I'm wearing it right now on a Bond Nato.
2) Robert Poseidon GMT w/ pepsi bezel - I was worried it would be too similar to the Invicta but they are quite different watches. I first thought it was a bit too ''blingy'' for my tastes but I'm starting to like it more.
3) Orient Blue Mako - really my first nice automatic watch, I think its a great deal!
4) Tissot PRC 200 Chronograph - this will probably be the only quartz I willl keep in my collection. I just love how it looks.

5) ???
6)???
7)???

Right now I'm thinking of adding The following (images were borrowed):

Archimede Pilot M - approx $500 - I would like to add a Flieger style
Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic ~$300 on ebay - they look like a good watch for the $$
Seiko SARB 033 - $418 shipped from chino watches - I'd like to add a more dressier watch to wear with a suit, also thought I need to add a Seiko to my collection.

I've thought about a few others such as Stowa Airman, Antea Creme, Laco Pilot A 36,
I'm going to budget $1,500 max for this and that includes shipping costs/taxes, so watches should be about $500 shipped.

I have 6.5"' wrists so size should be 40mm case diameter max and max 49mm lug to lug.

I'd like to add a Flieger style, a nice dress watch, and the third can be anything. I already have enough dive watches though :)

Waiting to see if any of you have recommendations i'haven't heard of...

The Hamilton Khaki Field was the first watch I thought of to add to your collection. I think that and a pilot / flieger style are a good choice to add variety. With those two you would have ~700 left in your budget for a nice dress watch. This leaves a lot of room. Have you considered a vintage dress watch, or possibly a dressy mechanical / automatic chrono? Something similar to a Longines Master Chrono would be a nice dress watch, and a auto chrono. Someone else will have to chime in with some specific choices here. I've never seen a Master Chrono, even used, for under $1200 or so, but there are probably similar styles out there.

Look at the entire Seiko dress line-mechanical, made in Japan-they have a number of classic dress watches that are reminiscent of the great watches of the 1960's-some feel that was the highpoint of Swiss design-they can be very versatile-you may want to look at a gold toned one for variety sake.

I like the Steinhart's the only problem is I think they will be a bit too big for me.
I have small wrists so 48mm lug to lug is probably my max. Maybe a mm or 2 depending on the shape and how flat it sits on the wrists and if its on a bracelet or not. But I don't think lug overhang is a good look!

I like the look of several Seiko's in the SARB line.

I already ordered the Archimede Pilot M and Hamilton. When I return from vacations I'll have a few new watches waiting for me at the post office :)

When I get back from vacation I should have 4 watches waiting for me...
then I just need to sell my 8 old ones...

I have been looking at the Sinn 656 and Damasko DA 36 but couldn't justify the price for new. I just picked up a used 656 for <$1000 on the classifieds at a watch forum.
I might end up flipping the Archimede or Hammy but I think the Sinn 38.5mm size will be a better size for me in a pilot style watch.
Now I have finished buying watches.
Next will be selling razors and some watches :p

I'd love to see a line-up shot of your seven day set ...

(It seems like you prefer darker faces ... all three you photo'd in the OP were that way ... hopefully you have a few with white/silver/champagne faces too.)

I've added a few more so now its a set of 10.
Will post pics when I have them all together.

Got the Hamilton , Archimede Pilot and Seiko today. Really impressed with the Archimede Pilot.

I think you should shoot for eight automatic watches, because seven is rarely enough. If something happened to one, you may end up having to wear the same watch twice in a seven day period.

And that, sir, just will not stand.:w00t:

EDIT: After posting, I see you have arranged for ten automatic watches. Attaboy! Nothing like a good safety net.

Yes I have changed my mind since my original post and spent a little more money on my collection. I will sell all the Japanese razors I never use to get a nicer watch.

I did buy a white faced watch though.

I'll put up photos of all my collection in a few weeks when they are all here.
Three are still in the mail.

Damasko DA 37

You should look at some vintage Tudor watches they look cool and are built like tanks.....also you can't go wrong with a Ball watch.....IMHO.

Since starting this thread my budget for the watch collection has increased and my preferences too. I have taken a preference to Damasko and Sinn and picked up 2 of each. I'm selling some of my straight razor collection and putting it towards a couple watches.
I started watch collecting like straight razors, buying everything that I liked first to figure out what I really wanted then ending up with a lot of stuff that I needed to sell.

When the new purchases arrive I'll post photos of the collection...

I like Omega's but prefer to wear something that is lesser known.
Since I originally started this thread a couple months ago the collection has completely been overhauled and I've sold most of the watches and bought different ones. The new ones are still on the way, hopefully, if Canada Post didn't lose them. It is a week past the guaranteed delivery date for 2 of them...
