Help in ID-ing a waterstone

Hey, folks -- Does anyone recognize this waterstone? The grit level on this stone is well north of a 16,000 Shapton glass stone, and even my 30,000 Shapton doesn't polish a knife or plane-blade edge like this baby does. Trouble is, the day's coming when I will need to replace it, and I can't recall where I got it. I'll be grateful if anyone out there can help me identify the maker.

I have one of these or something very similar. Mine is from 1980s bought in Japan. I say that I have one like that based on the color and characters on the base. Mine is thicker and doesn’t not have the side stamping yours does. It came from my grandfather’s woodshop and someone wrote 6000 in sharpie on this one. He mostly had matsunagura (sp?) stuff he bought while on one of his trips over there and most of it King brand. But I am pretty sure this one is actually a suheiro stone and 6000. I realize that is not consistent with your polish and grit comparisons but check them out on google and see what you think. I have bought newer king and suheiro since 2000 and 2010 and really don’t find them the same as the old stuff :-( Maybe just me or my imagination. But the one I have I’m calling an older suheiro 6k does polish steel very well and consistently......much better than many current 8K stones and maybe close to naniwa 12k.

l -- You're a gentleman and a scholar. Many, many thanks! Given the markings, yours and mine must have come from the same source. Will check out Suehiro and let you know what I find.
