I don’t know my older model razors. Please help me identify this model. Please excuse the photo angles, I didn’t take the photos.

They are great razors IMHO. I have a few of them and I enjoy using them when I do.

Here is a couple of photos. I don’t see any numbers and there is no packaging.

If you can just post the letter and number stamped on the underside of the base plate we can determine the year and quarter.

For example Z 1 would be the first quarter of 1954.

There's a handy date code chart here at B&B that you can use to find the age of Gillette razors:

Even without a date code, it can be narrowed to 1954-59, based on the pattern of both vertical and horizontal stripes on the knob. The horizontal stripes disappeared after '59.

It's a D4. If I understand everything properly, it was manufactured Oct.-Dec. of 1958 and is a "TV Special" Version. I am still combing B&B for more interesting tidbits. Thank you everybody for your help and feel free to correct me or add more info.

It is a ‘58 but not the TV Special Super-Speed (SS) version. The TV’s and the regular SS’s both had knurling on the handle. The regular SS’s of that era had vertical cuts up and down the handles and rings around the handle. The TV’s didn’t have the rings around the handle.

Pictured below is a regular D1 on the left and a D2 TV Special on the right.

I don’t know if you’ve seen the mr-razor website, but it’s a great help for ID’ing all kinds of Gillettes.
