Help identify a tripod and head

I picked up this very sturdy, high quality feeling tripod and pan/tilt fluid head today at the flea market for a measly $5. It has zero markings on it anywhere, but there is a very faded sticker on one leg that says American Made. The sticker is in an odd orientation, but right where you would expect a label to be, so I'm left wondering who made it, and what age it might be. Legs are a standard twist locking collar. Removeable spike feet with rubber outter cones.

Any help would be great!

It's a modified Leitz Tiltall I would say. I say modified as those 'adjustable bolts' are not the original ones. The original ones are the ones with the round, knurled heads, like those on another part of the tripod.

I have a Leitz Tiltall in much better cosmetic shape...almost 30 years old and still working well. I bought mine..new...to use with heavy medium format equipment. I carry mine in the trunk of my car...always ready that way. Never had a bit of trouble with it ever.

There's newer stuff, lighter tripods, different designs...but for a rugged, high quality tripod...think they're hard to beat.

They were made in New Jersey . Very beefy, well built....more of a professional piece of equipment.

Wow....for $ 5 you did outstanding.

Sorry I almost forgot about this thread, but I did some further investigation into it and this is a clone , not a true leitz tiltall. The adjuster knobs like you say are a sign as well as the twist locks on the legs. Either way it is damn sturdy, and a helluva deal for what I paid! I plan to get a cheap ballhead for it and give it to a friend.

Here is a good idea of how sturdy his thing is...
