Help ID my razor

Hello everyone. I am new here, and to shaving with anything but a cartridge razor. To start thank you for having such a wonderful resource for men.

I've been wanting to make the switch to a DE, and am happy to have just acquired my grandfather's razor. Its been sitting in a medicine cabinent for 17 years since he passed away. I am looking forward to using it, both for the shaving experience and also for the sentimental value of it.

With that said I'm looking for helpt in identifying the model and approximate year. I hope that the pic attachment works. If it does not here are some identifying things that might help someone with the proper knowledge.

I know it is a Gillette DE razor, it is marked on the bottom with the Gillette name/logo.

I cannot find any model marking number or patent number on the razor anywhere. I thought it might be a fatboy at first but there are no number markings indicating the blade adjustment. I thought it may be a superspeed, but again...I cannot find any helpful markings.

Other markings on the bottom;
"REG U.S."
"PAT. OFF."
"MADE IN U.S.A."

once opened up there are markings that would normally be covered by the blade that state
"PAT . NOS. ON PACKAGE"

The top of the handle is open showing the hollow handle.
Color/Finish: Gold with a diamond style finish and vertical lines

Thank you for any assistance!! If the photos don't work I'd be happy to email them to anyone who thinks they can help.

It's an aristocrat. The notched blade holder suggests it was made after 1947, and the lack of a date code suggests it was made before 1951.
Someone else might be able to narrow it down more.

One other thing--If you do decide to clean it, do not use any type of polish, as it will remove the clearcoat. Gold plating is very thin on all the Gillettes, you can use scrubbing bubbles to remove soap scum but I wouldn't go past that.
