Help ID a case

I got this case in a large lot, and I'm not sure which razor it belongs to. I have a feeling my fellow B&Bers will help me..

My limited knowledge in cases would make me think this is a case for a Blue tip Rocket however, the case doesn't exactly match on Mr-Razor's website... Also, the blue tip superspeed isn't the same blue...

Yeah, I checked on Mr-Razor before posting here, and didn't find an exact match.. I first guess was blue tip superspeed, but that appears lighter blue on his website..

I´m not sure, but I think the dark blue case is for a Super-Speed. The first flare Tip comes in a red case and I believe later in the dark blue case. The light blue case is for the Blue Tip. The Krumholz book has only b/w pictures, but on page 254 it looks like a dark blue case.

The bright blue and light red cases were the same colours as gillette made in the 40's (for 1940s superspeeds and british rockets).
That's a 1950s style case, with 1940s style colours, so very early 1950s razors where sold in that case.
Early flare tips pre 1955 (plain superspeeds that is, as they switched to new case colours when the red and blue tips came out), would have probably been sold in that case.

I typically see those blue cases with the Super Speeds that have the black plastic TTO knob. Yours is in excellent shape.......for some reason, virtually all the blue ones have extensive "spider web" cracks through the clear lid.

My 1953 superspeed is in a bright blue case like that, as is a '51 black tip, aluminum handle superspeed (? - I don't have it here... sorry).

The later 50's mild shaver blue tip's case is a pale blue, if I remember correctly.

I think these dark blue cases were for the Super-Speeds with the black plastic knob. Here is one with a date code W-3 (1951). And also for the late 40's Super-Speed.
I have got a complete set with 40's Super-Speed dated Y-1 (1953) with the some case. Sorry but I don't taken photographs of it.

I agree. I have seen that case most commonly with the early 50's dates of the 40's style Super Speed.

Thanks for all the replys gents. So it's either a case for a blacktip superspeed, or one of the latest 40's superspeeds. No chance for a early flare tip? What kind of pricerange do these cases go in?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I read this thread as well as saying the case is for a black tip 1940s superspeed or for an early 1950s flare tip superspeed. I don't think any of the normal late 1940s model superspeeds were in this case

Yes, they were. Leon said he has a complete 1953 set in this case. I have a 1951 in the same case. The black tips were found in these cases since they were made in that same time period ... 1951 through 1953.
