Help! cologne tube broke / decant possible?

proxy.php

This will not spray at all...looks like there is no fix. I dropped it the other day and the tube / spring fell out of the sprayer assembly inside the bottle.

Has this happened to anyone before? I don't know what to do.

Out of all my colognes this is my favorite :mad2:

You can get cheap spray bottles online that should work for a decant. I'm sure someone will be along shortly with a link.

Carefully- use a pair of diagonal cutters to cut a couple of slits in the side of the metal cap, pry it off. Have something to put the juice in as you cannot close again. (A cork would work.)

The sprayer once broke on a bottle of fragrance my g/f had. We CAREFULLY pushed the whole spray mechanism into the bottle using a nail, which allowed us to pour the fragrance out through the whole it created into another, generic atomizer bottle. The trick is to get the cap off so you can get to the mechanism underneath.

Does anyone know where I could get a "vaporiser" locally? Walmart, rite aid, walgreens, target, sears, etc.

If not anyone have a link to one online that will hold 4oz? So far everything I've found is rather femmy

I don't know if any of the places you've mentioned carry atomizers sufficient for a fragrance. Target sells litle water spray bottles, good for eyeglass cleaner, rubbing alcohol and that sort of thing; they're cheap and basic, but I don't know if they're good for cologne.

For online options, Doric's suggestion looks like a good one. The only other options I can think of is Caswell Massey used to sell empty spray bottles in their stores; I don't know if they still do, or if you can order them online, but you could call them and find out. Also, The Perfume House here in Portland sells (or used to sell) small atomizers. They aren't femmy, but they aren't cheap either. Plus, you'll have to call them, as they don't have any e-commerce function on their website. I know these aren't great options, but if you get desperate enough....

Accessories For Fragrances sells really nice looking and reliably operating atomizers of all shapes and sizes for reasonable prices with fast shipping, etc. See http://store01.prostores.com/servlet/accessoriesforfragrances/StoreFront

Badger Decants sells excellent decant vials and bottle for very reasonable prices

The sellers on EBay of this kind of thing are quite good in my experience.

I have really had zero look finding this kind of this at brick and motar stores. Lots of large sized plastic bottles with atomizers that may be sort of okay, but nothing of great quality or that is really as small as one might like!

Heads up

Try to decant a little into the new bottle and use for a few weeks and observe. The cologne may react with the new bottle.

I had previously decanted some Tabac Edc into a clear plastic bottle and the bottle became opaque and flaky after a month.

I have a similar problem.
I plan to order some colognes from Czech & Speake and share them with my friend. Are those atomizers sealed? What do you suggest?

Thanks!

I think just two C&S scents come in 200 ml splach bottles, so they are open. The rest are just 100 ml spray and they are definitely sealed. So, if you do not want to destroy the sprayer, buy little plastic or metal funnels from one of the plays listed earlie, and spray into the funnels into decant bottles. If you get glass decant bottles there should be not problem with the juice eating up the container or spray mechanism.

Be careful and take it slow and easy. I have knocked over bottles and broken them or spilled. Not a fun thing to have happen.

I've bought atomizers from pilotvials.com with no problems. Lots of different styles, you could get a plain square glass bottle if you want. Also, you might want to get a funnel or even some pipettes to transfer the cologne. Putting your cologne in a plain glass bottle shouldn't cause any problems...at least I've not had problems with the ones I decanted into glass atomizers over a year ago.

Just out of curiosity, do you have any experience with the different atomizers for the different shaped bottles that they sell? If so, are some of their atomizers better than others or are they all pretty consistent?

I have some experience with different sizes of decant bottles and thus somewhat different atomizers from them and the atomizers seem to be of consistently high quality.

There´s pretty intense smell of Czech & Speake in my apartment at the moment

I would remove the sprayer using either menthod listed and decante it in a nice glass Tabasco or Hot Sause bottle.
