What do you think of this for a beginner? Anyone know when it might be made and if the quality is alright?

They have a reputation for being very good razors. That one appears to be in good shape and should be fine for a beginner-provided its honed by someone who knows what they are doing.

Looks great. That's very good steel and the razor looks to be in nice shape. Once honed, it should serve you well. Can't tell you any specifics other than that.

As most have said it is a top quality razor.. good find.

I have one and its a top line razor. The scales probably are Ivory, mine are.
