Heirloom Torrey

Just got this old Torrey from my dad. It was my great great uncle's. It was coated in rust, but it appears to have been mostly surface rust and came off easily with a few strokes with 2500 w/d. It is a hair over 4/8 and the edge is rough, but I think it can be made shave ready, hopefully at around 7/16. Scales look to be in very good shape. What do you think?

It'll shave again. You do have some work ahead of you though.

I'd unpin that and clear out/off all rust and heavy oxidation.
I would probablyh opt to leave a good amount of 'patina'.

Great to have a heirloom razor.

I would clean up the rust and if you want to shave with it give it a go, after a bit you will get an idea of how good or bad the steel is on the edge.

It is hard to tell from pictures how the steel below the rust also hard to tell how a razor will shave from the pics.
