Head shavers - how many shaves out of one blade?

The topic pretty much says it all.
If you also shave your head, how many shaves you get from a blade?

If you also shave your head, how many shaves you get from a blade?

I get two shaves for each DE blade and then I throw it out. When I use my Cobra Classic (Feather Professional) . . . I can get five shaves. I'm looking forward to hearing from my fellow chrome domes responses.

It seems to depend somewhat on the blade:


Here are some of my recent ones:

Bluebird = 3
Dorco = 1
Derby Extra = 2
Feather = 2
Gillette 7 O' Clock (yellow) = 4, though I've milked 5 good shaves out of one as an experiment
Gillette 7 O' Clock (green) = 4
Gillette 7 O' Clock (black) = 3 or 4
Merkur = 1
Voskhod = 3

My skin seems to have a clear preference for the 7 O' Clocks, with Voskhods a close second.

My scalp seems far more tolerant than my face, specifically my throat.

Might be time for another blade sampler.....

My head hair is fine so it cuts easily. I can get at least 3 shaves on my head from my least compatible DE blades, usually 5 from the ones that work well for me. My facial hair is coarser so it dulls more quickly.
I use a blade for my face, then switch blades for the dome and that seems to help too.

Head and face, three passes each? Some blades last two shaves, others three. It depends on the make.

I can get 6-7 shaves out of a Personna Lab Blue in a Merkur slant. This is my usual combo on the dome
