head shaver?

I use cartridges to shave my head. I was wondering if there are any head shavers out there with tips for me. I tried to go with the grain but I'm nervous to go against the grain. any pointers?

I shave my head every day. While I use a straight or DE on my face, I still use a cartridge for my head. I've used a DE on my head numerous times but prefer the cartridge because it's faster. I do it in the shower, shaving from top to bottom. If I want a smoother shave I'll do a second pass front to back. I never shave bottom to top, which would be against the grain, because it's too irritating and not really necessary for a close shave. If I use a DE I do it after my shower at the same time I do my face.

I shave my head once a week and use a

single-blade disposable razor instead of a cart or DE. I begin with light pressure, work front to back and actually get a BBS head shave (Yeah Baby!!!), without any problems, nicks and bumps.

Hi Almir: Welcome to B&B. Just treat your dome as you would your face. I say ditch the cartridges and head shave the manly way. I get better head shaves with a DE or SE razor compared to the cartridges. IMHO... there is nothing better, more challenging, and more fun then shaving with a DE or SE razor.

Shave it every evening for the most part.

I actually run primarily ATG... any WTG or XTG is spillover.
Start at my neck, up and over.
Left ear to right ear, up and over.
Right ear to left ear, up and over.
Forehead to neck, up and over.
Couple of 45 degree passes to buff out the areas above my ears that grow at odd angles.

If I've not been feeling well, camping, or for whatever reason have not shaved in a couple of days, then I'll use the straight razor to mow down the bulk of the growth so I don't keep clogging the Mach-3... many areas don't need cleanup with the cart, but the straight is tough to get the area right above my ears.

I shave ATG on my head.. 1st pass with my DE then 2nd pass with a Mach 3. The only tip I have for you is to just take your time the first few head shaves with the DE.

I shave my head with my DE every other day. I always go against the grain on the sides and back of my head and front to back on the dome. I can usually get a great shave in one pass. It actually seems easier than getting a smooth shave on my face for some reason. I need at least two passes with touch up XTG on my neck...

I head shave with a Schick Quattro ATG, every pass. Which I have my head mapped because my hair grows in different directions. That may be why carts work better for me on the head.

BBS every day:thumbup:

I shave my head every day, (ATG on the front part and WTG on the back of the neck) with a Feather DX for the best result (for me in any case). I've done it with a DE many times but the result is a bit less and one pass is often not enough.

I shave across the grain, back of my head 1st then the rest.

I do it in the shower using a disposable razor & my wife's Nivea face soap & the result is always good for me.
