Head Latherers: What brush do you recommend?

I've been looking at the Semogue line of brushes; Pure Badgers sound great for face and head lathering.

What's your weapon of choice? Any recommendations? My only real experience with brushes is with the B&B Essentials Boar Brush and a lousy, floppy Col Conk Pure Badger with a 30 lb handle.

Silvertip / Best / Super is the best way to go IMHO.

I find that big brushes make head shaving considerable easier as they allow me to generate enough lather to do both my face and head with ease.

There is no perfect brush for both face and head lathering. I happen to prefer slightly bigger brushes, so it makes covering the real estate faster.

Another vote for using the same brush you use on your face. I shave both face and head at the same time, so why add the complication of preparing a second brush during a shave session?

While it's a personal choice, I wouldn't use a prickly pure on my head unless I had some reason to look like like I'd just lost a fight with an angry cat. I too favor a larger brush for the job; L to R, Kent BK 12, Shavemac XXL and custom M&F. For a more all purpose brush that does the job well, the Kent BK 8 is excellent. I should add that when I'm shaving my head, I use these monsters to do my face as well. Any of them fully loaded will produce enough lather to cover a good sized barn.

I don't care for prickly or moppy brushes.

That said, whatever I use on my face works just fine on my head.

I bounce between a Prorasso professional boar (Large Omega) and a 28mm finest from TGN. I have tried smaller brushes but the large guys are far easier.

I prefer more scrub on my scalp (so I use an Omega boar) than on my face (I use a Muhle HJM black fibre), though the latter works fine on my head. I'm sure that a bigger brush would be an advantage for head shaving.

I tend to use the same brush for both face and head but I'm less likely to use a floppy brush like my WSP High Mountain White for my head. I really love the M&F Chief for my head these days, with a TGN silvertip as my second choice.
