Having problems getting a smooth shave around my jaw

I'm 23 and just started using safety razors, I actually enjoy shaving now and converted my dad and friends. I'm using a futur and always seem to have rough spots around my jaw. I have tried different blades and directions without no change. me and my dad both have thick and heavy beards, he has a r41 and loves it. I went ahead and ordered a r41 grande and a 39c to add to my collection. Will these help with my problem or am I doing something wrong?

I use an R41 specifically to deal with the "swirlies" around my chin.

Took me good lather and a little practice, but the R41 allowed me to clean up my chin in fewer passes and with less burn than "gentler" razors.

YMMV, of course, but it is worth a try.

The Futur should be able to mow anything down. I believe technique needs to improve before jumping from one razor to the next. Also don't compare yourself to your dad. You after all just started and he's had quite a head start with the required motor skills over the years.
Get the lather perfected, angle of blade on the Futur etc this may take months. Remember it not the hardware, it's you. I can play tennis with a thousand dollar equipment but it boils down to my skill.

Buffing should get rid of any stubble.

After your final pass, take the hand you do not hold your razor with and pull some lather out of the center of your brush by lightly pinching the bristles and pull. Rub the area where you feel stubble with this lather. Take your razor, put it lightly on your face and move it back and forth in a scrubbing motion. Add more lather to that area from your hand as needed. You may need to buff in all directions to get the stubble removed. Be careful as you can easily cut yourself doing this but you will get all of your stubble removed this way. Remove some more lather and go to another area that has stubble and repeat the buffing motion
