Have you ever had the "Energizer Bunny" blade that keeps going?

I am using a feather blade that has at least 6 shaves on it and the blade keeps giving better and better results! Normally, I wear out a blade after 3-5 shaves, but this one has given outstanding results and shows no signs of slowing down. I am curious to see how far it goes. Have any of you had a blade that just keeps going and going?

I'm not surprised. I can get about 7 or 8 good 3-pass shaves with a Feather. I thought I was kidding myself or misremembering, so I started keeping track. I haven't had that with other blades.

There was a post once here in B&B that I've had an impossible time searching and finding he claimed to use one blade throughout the year. One poster called him Methuselah. But one that documents it day by day thus giving credibility... Turtle recently and then you have the P74 crowd. But amongst the non exotic blades I ran a Gillette thin blade made in Thailand for seven days then decided to retire it.

I'm on a 5th shave with a Feather in a Slim where I never got a third previously before serious tugging ensued...those grey bristles really do blunt even the sharpest of edges!

Ted Pellas injector blades take forever to wear out.

Careful with the Feathers- when they tank, they bite.

I don't have a lot of facial hair (but it grows fast) so I can get a week or more out of a blade. I could probably stretch it longer but after about a week the blades start to dull.

Currently, I'm using Astra SP blades and normally get 4-5 3-pass shaves with them. A couple of weeks ago I had a blade that just would not quit. I shaved 9 times with it. Then, on the very next blade, I only got two shaves before it started tugging/pulling.

I had a Rotbart Extra Dünn and after 16 shaves I dumped it. It was the first and last blade I got such a range of shaves with.

Blades normally last me about a week. I never let them go beyond that because they may shave well one day and the next they let you know in a big way that they are done.

+1...just got ten shaves from one. Definitely started to get dull, but no tugs or nicks...

The blade is still going. I just another terrific shave from it this morning. It only took 2 passes and minor touch up on my chin.

I got 10 shaves out of a Personna Red IP a year ago but not since. I usually get 3-5 shaves from all my blades but I get a. Bad single edge blade earlier this year that I had the change out before I got the first pass done.

To me, the best and smoothest shaves start with the third or the fourth shave. I just discarded a Feather after 10 shaves. Nothing was wrong with it, by the way.
