Hat of the Day!

Based on the popularity of hats in other threads I thought this might be fun. Here goes--
Today's hat is an all wool cap in grey and green representing my city the day before Carnival season starts.
I split my hat wearing approximately 25% baseball type capes, 25% flat caps, and 50% Hats with brims (porkpies, fedoras, homburgs, etc.)

Nice hat! I'll try to remember to post one every day. Is that the intent of this thread? I'm kinda dense; I don't want to fill this up with pics if I'm not supposed to!

I usually wear a ball cap under a hoodie when I walk out to get the mail, etc.

Almost always wear a "Fedora" or similar if I'm going up town, etc.

Appropriate headwear for a cool, cloudy day in Texas when I'm in and out of the house all day. I'm wearing it indoors because nobody is here to tell me not too!

I couldn't figure out how to get a picture of my hat without including my face. Apologies. I didn't even shave for the occasion!

Tilley TTW2 Tec-Wool in "Rust". Even using the "ear flaps". This may be my favorite hat.

Akubra hat. Think of it as an Australian version of Stetson. This model is called the Coolabah. One of the advantages of Akubra is they are all rabbit fir felt hats. No wool in the product line. And they have cool croc bands.

Pulled out the derby and dressed it up a Mardi Gras band from Meyer The Hatter in honor of the start of Carnival Season.
My slightly educated opinion dates it to the 20s. Smarter folks here feel free to correct me.

Today's hat is brought to you by Borsalino. A vintage hat made of beaver fur in the color "schiuma" which i believe translates as seafoam. The first hat I've ever purchased from eBay, it was originally sold here in New Orleans by Meyer The Hatter. It's beautiful, soft, and very Italian.

Before the pandemic I had never bought a hat online. Now I have 3 online purchases on my closet.

Akubra Federation Deluxe. At the time it was the most accurate, off the shelf, Indiana Jones hat on the market.

It was much colder then it looked outside.
