Haslinger Container

Have seen a lot lately on Haslinger soap, and am getting tempted! Have read that the pucks are small and subject to moving around in a mug/bowl. Was wondering if there was an advantage in getting the soap in the Haslinger container? Did read that it made a nice travel soap that way, but wondering if would be advantageous to lathering in general. Or would just grating it in a bowl be a better idea? Would appreciate hearing from those with experience. Thanks!

I would grate in into a bowl unless it will be for travel. I think the container is a joke. I love haslinger soap but the pucks are just too small as they are.

I just wet mine and put it in the bottom of an empty bowl. Once the water dried the puck didn't move around at all.

I never seen the container but I mill mine into a bowl. I prefer big brushes (28-30mm) so I like a decent size bowl. Just ordered another puck this morning (sandalwood). Haslinger is one of my favorites.

I found this thuya wood box that is much smaller than I was hoping for.... but apparently a Haslinger soap puck fits into it perfectly.

The pucks are approximately 60 mm in diameter. The bowl fits the pucks like a glove. I was hoping to use the bowl for my Joris soap, but the Joris pucks are much larger in diameter at around 83 mm.

I use a 3 1/4'' tin for most of my soaps. The haslinger soap drops in with lots of extra room, but hasn't moved around since getting wet. If it does start moving I'll grate it.

+1

I actually squished a thin layer of soap from a cella brick into the bottom of an old spice mug to anchor my Haslinger puck - it has never moved.
