What's new

Has anyone ever tried..

A half puck of MWF with a half puck of Tabac? I was thinking how wonderful it would be to have the lathering and scent properties of Tabac with the moisturizing of MWF. I've never tried grinding or combining soaps in a bowl and am not even sure if it would work? I'd think the prominent scent of Tabac would overwhelm the timid Mitchell's scent (which isn't a bad thing, they'd probably combine well).

Apologies if this is complete blasphemy, just wondering if anyone's tried it

I think that the universe might implode. Sorry, no way this is safe.

Are you going to try it? At the moment I'm really enjoying the scent of each individually, and wouldn't want to ruin that by combining them. You may discover some new type of super soap.

I'm giving it some thought. If I were to try it I'd probably take a quarter or so of the puck off from the bottom width wise, so I wouldn't ruin either of the pucks and could put them back in their bowls. I'm mostly considering this because I got MWF for the first time today and am having a hell of a time lathering it. I do love the scent of it though, I can't figure out why so many people dislike it!

Can't imagine ruining good MWF like that.

No doubt MWF can be a bit difficult to start with but it's worth the effort. MWF likes to be wet and will expand to fit the porcelain dish. One thing to try here would be to put 2 - 3 tablespoons of water on the puck and let is sit for a day.

Load your bush excessively. Use lots of product. Load until your brush can't possibly hold any more soap. When building your lather, don't whip it like a daiquiri in a blender, slow down a bit.

Feel free to PM me for a proper disposal address for pure MWF should this finicky soap prove unusable. However, if your MWF has been contaminated with tabac please handle with care and contact your local nuclear waste treatment facility for further instructions.

Great, thanks for the input. Should I combine a bit of the two, I assure you it will be in a tightly controlled environment and testing will be conducted to insure the water supply of greater Cleveland won't be contaminated BEFORE using

Edit: I just added about 3 tablespoons of bottle water to the MWF dish. I'm thinking it wouldn't be nearly as hard as the water coming out of the faucet so it may have better results after expanding?

This was discussed a few months ago. Previously I had sliced off the sides of Tabac and MWF pucks to fit in my containers and put the pieces aside. After reading the thread, I put them together, heated over boiling water to soften and stirred. The result is a soap better than MWF alone (in my opinion), but does not beat Tabac.

If the Cleveland water supply gets contaminated with this combo that's ok with me. I'll just splash the "shave water" on my face straight out of the tap and shave with that. It'll save me time in the AM.

I mean the rivers already catch on fire, I doubt a little Tabac-MWF hybrid would cause much fuss.
