Has anyone ever been unhappy with the shave after replating?

Okay, this is probably a silly question, but, have you ever had an older razor, that wasn't so pretty but shaved great. So you sent it off to the spa for a facelift and when you got it back, it just didn't preform the way it did?

I'm considering a replate but thought I'd ask as it seems most people are pretty happy with the looks of the job.

Now my expectation is the answer is that replating has no impact on the shave itself.

No Impact whatsoever IMO

I find that replating a open combed razor like a NEW improves the shave, the polished nickel plated combs glide easier on the face then bare brass.
