I cut a slurry stone from a coticule.

Doc, did you use a carbide blade made for tile and masonry on your hacksaw or a regular toothed blade? Thanks
I cut a coticule with a tile wet saw.
I've done both Jnats and Cotis with both types of blades.
Carbide blades speed up the process significantly.

I used a regular blade but I'm sure a carbide one would be faster.
The carbide hacksaw blade I bought was one of the best investments I've ever made.
Cut the cutting time in half - easily. The blade takes a good beating too. Well worth it.
I must have used 4 blades cutting one single mid-size piece off one Nakayama.

I too used a carbide hacksaw blade to cut my Kiita Tomo in half....made short work of it!!
Beg/borrow/steal a tile saw for best results.
i just cut a Thuri yesterday with a diamond tipped (Bosch) blade on my B and D hand-held jigsaw (30 bucks at Home depot). Worked like a charm and took all of 20 seconds.
I used a tile blade and my dremel. Easy as can be.
