I started wet shaving 2 years ago for about 1 week and quit. I bought a Merkur heavy duty and cut myself every day for 7 days then sold the razor. This year I thought I'd give it another try. I bought a Merkur 23c and got pretty good at it. Then I bought an EJ89. I used these two for a few months and decided I wanted to try something a bit more aggressive, so what do I buy?..........A Muhle R41. That sucker cuts me up like Freddy Kruger. Now here is my question.....Is there a razor that is a happy medium?Advice please.

Pick up a Fat Boy, a Slim or a Super Adjustable. Then you can get whatever level of aggressiveness you seek.

To get a smoother, closer shave. Or at least try to.

I love the r41 and don't really find it aggressive. Sorry I have no answers to your question other than practice with the r41

I think you should try an adjustable. Merkur makes three and I suspect any would provide enough of an aggressive attitude to satisfy.
