Handle stuck

Guys, I need your help, don't know if I should put this in shave clinic pdf.

So, today I received a vintage no name German slant. I've cleaned, disinfected, and loaded it with blade, all normal, my first slant, but not my first razor. I didn't screwed handle bad. I noticed a bit of misalignment of blade, more agressive on one side, so logically I needed to unscrew it a bit, set it right and tighten it. Well, I unscrewed it a 2 or 3 circles, and when I tried to tighten it, it got stuck, won't go back. Basically, now it can be screwed and unscrewed only about half a circle, can't tighten or unscrew it. I guess there is a broken piece of thread which is blocking.
So, what can I do to it? I do not wanna lose it. I have tried it with a bit of oil, and unscrewed it a little, but it is stuck still. It is some light metal, maybe aluminum or some alloy, so force will probably ruin it. Is there any help, have someone experienced this?

Thank you, and sorry for my bad English, hope you understand me.

That sounds bad. I hope any damage is to the handle rather than the head, because handles are easier to replace.

If you know anyone who does regular work with machinery, it might be worth asking for advice.

You can tak a small triangle file to reduce the blockage if on the threads... If it's a handle find a new one... Webers are 38 bucks... A gillette new lc handle should fit most heads too and it's cheap!

I recorded something quickly with my cheap phone:

Also here is earlier pic of it,when it was ok:

Does anybody know what model it is?

Like you said, I mostly do not care for handle, between losing head and handle, handle is ofc smaller evil. I am mostly afraid that whole thread will be broken off top cap, and do not know if it could be sealed again.:crying::crying::crying:

Ok well u can either force it off by twisting hard and risk damaging the threads...or cut the handle off with a saw or dremel . If you have a machinist friend near by I would bring it to him

I'm no expert but it sounds like the threads are at least partly stripped. Metal of the handle might be harder than the metal of the threads and cut the threads. Brass handle, zamac head. Either misalignment or different threads. It happens with stuff that screws together from time to time. I'm afraid I've no idea what to do about it though. Good luck. It looks like a nice razor.

I think you have 3 options. 1, take it to a friend who is a machinist and see if he can do something. 2, cut the handle off just below the threads and see if you can figure a way to get the rest off without damaging the post. 3, just force the handle off and take your chances that the post doesn't break.

It looks like a nice razor and I hope you aren't out too much money. I am not a patient person, so I would just force the handle, probably break the razor and then curse for a half hour.

It sounds like it may be striped threads. Pull it out with force, then as you cant pull any longer easily unscrew it til it opens. As you are pulling at the same time unscrew it to see if it may grab the un- stripped threads and loosen up

Uh, guys, thank you very much for your answers! I've managed to unscrew it, as I don't have machinist friend I decided to risk it. Put some wd-40 on it, and soaked it in oil for 24h. Then I forced it, and unscrewed it. Bad news, lower half of thread is stripped :( Good news, yuma's handle fits on what is left, and can be tightened! Will post pics tommorow, it is 2AM here. Again, thank you all for answers!

I think this is great news and really about the best outcome that could be hoped for. I'd love to see the pics with the different handle and I'm interested in how it shaves. It looks like a really interesting razor.

As I promised pics, bit late, but here they are. Shaved with it twice and loved it! This is my first slant, so I can't give really accurate info, but I almost didn't felt blade in my usual WTG+ATG shave, but result is compared with slim @7 probably, maybe even better with more usage. It goes so smooth.
What do you think about new yuma handle? It is just a bit lighter with it, but I think It goes along nicely.
