Handle replacement for Stahly Live Blade

I picked up a Stahly Live blade DE razor the other day and of course it didn't work. I don't know that I want to bother trying to fix it since I don't really like how that thing is so oddly balanced. The handle is just too heavy. On the other hand I love the way the head shaves. I bearly feel the blade and it is very comfortable. I was thinking that I should just ditch the handle and replace it with something that feels a little better in the hand. Anyone know what handles might work with this Stahly head?

I have a Stahly head on a Tradere handle. I've also put it on a cooncatbob Bull Mastiff, but I like the way the Tradere navigates around my face more.

Don't give up on that original Stahly handle. I thought mine was broken as well, but I just had to force it a little to wind up the spring and now it runs just fine. The vibrations don't seem to add much to the shave, but as a static handle, it does just fine.

The handle is quite heavy. Mine was sold to me "broken", but a soak in disksoap and warm water loosened up the mechanism and now it is fine. Others have had success with a mineral oil soak if I recall correctly. Possibly the internal lubrication gets sticky over time - anyway that might be worth a try.

The head will work with just about any vintage or modern DE handle. Try whatever you have: I like the Mühle R89 handle, myself.

I use mine on my Bull Mastiff XL.

They are great shaving heads.

I have a Stahly head on the handle from a Parker 91R. It's very effective, but the handle is a teensy bit on the "too heavy" side for me. Certainly easier to manage than the bulk of the Stahly mechanical handle, though, albeit without the characteristic vibration.

I use an extra Stahly head on a Tradere handle- nice combo. What is your Stahly handle doing (or not doing)? If it won't wind (stuck), or if it winds, but springs back, I might be interested in buying it. Is it the usual chrome body, or...?
