Hand American Strops

After doing some research i decided to take the plunge for a new strop. Here is the kicker the 2 strops i decided on i cannot buy at the moment. First choice was a SRD Bridle strop(not listed on there site anymore,must be sold out). Second was a TM Latigo/Linen combo(Shop closed for vacation) so i did more research and i came across Handamerican. There strops are unique with really beautiful hardware. Can anyone give me feed back on there products? The Chicago and there new Signature strops look and sound great.

Received my Chicago Special with diamond embossed back today.

Also got the hard wool felt and diamond spray.

Can't stop grinning... thinking about Saturday AM shave


And my 3" TM horsehide is on the way too!

Have you checked their site? I think it says they're closing down for a while, so I wouldn't draw any conclusion about customer service. They may just not be checking calls or emails at the moment

I think it was pretty together before. I haven't tried their strops, but the reviews seem very good.
They're just changing some things if I remember correctly, not really getting their failed **** together

Agreed it seems their products are exceptional.

I do empathize with your perspective though. I really want one (or two) of their strops and have the money at last since I sold a straight recently, but I have no way of acquiring one. They're in the middle of some big move, so their response times are probably slower than ever. I'm gonna try to see if my WTB ad on the BST can get me a nice HA strop like it did a Semogue LE brush

If you are getting impatient, another source of excellent strops is Tony Miller.

If you have the time to wait, and you order from Hand American, you will be rewarded with a strop that is second to none. I just rec'd one. It has been working real well with every razor that I've tried.....

I thank you for the mention though. Hand American makes nice strops and would be one of the few out there that I would want to own myself. I like the traditional styling.

I also have a TM 3" horse hide strop. I am having a real hard time choosing a favorite between the two.

When are you coming back Tony? I just got my first straight razor and have been eyeing your awesome strops and you sir are enjoying a vacation. I need a TM red latigo strop!! Seriously though, enjoy your vacation, sounds like you deserve it.

There is no handle or ring on the strop. The hard wool felt strop has a handle.
