Halo Triton vs G6

Yeah, I am going to be ordering some wick and wire soon. It is too easy to do yourself.

That is good to know

I hear someone sells a Latakia flavored juice- guess who is going to be jumping all over that.

When I first tried e cigs years ago, I got tired of refilling that small holder of the cigarette sized e cig I had. I was filling it multiple times a day. My eGo came with two 1.6 mL plastic tanks, one of which I upgraded (for $5 more) for a metal/glass tank that holds about 2.5 mL. More than enough juice to get me through the day, which means I am more likely to stick with it. I am going to order wicks and wire next to make my own atomizers.

I've barely got my feet in all this yet, can you explain the whole wicks, wires, and ss screens and all that mumbo jumbo? feels like im trying to figure out a new language.

I will tell you what I know based on what I have. My tank (holds the e liquid) is a bottom burner, meaning the atomizer down near where the tank screws on to the battery. The wick absorbs liquid, and transfers the juice to the atomizer. An atomizer is basically just wire twisted over another piece of wick. The wire in the atomizer contacts the battery. When you press the button, the coil heats up, vaporizing the juice on the wick. On a bottom burner like mine, the wicks are short, since they are at the bottom of the tank. If your tanks atomizer is at the top, then you need long wicks to reach the bottom of the tank. I don't know about SS screens. If you don't want the hassle of making your own atomizers don't worry- they are pretty cheap. I know we don't usually point people off site, but e-cigarette-forum.com is a pretty good site, with tons of info. If you ask questions here, though, I am sure someone will have the answer.

Yep don't worry yourself too much about rebuilding, that really is much more advanced. There's a whole slew of atomizers, cartomizers, and a variety of tanks to experience before ever needing to worry so much about building your own.

So what exactly is the difference between rebuildable and non-rebuildable atomizer? are the non-rebuildables like disposables where u just toss the atomizer at some point?

Yes, that's exactly it. Most people use disposables because its just easy and they work relatively well.

For me, I couldnt stand having to order them, you occasionally get dead ones or just plain shoddy ones. Plus most mute the flavor a bit. If you don't mind a bit of tinkering and a learning curve, rebuilding is just better all around and at the heart of it, its just wrapping a wire around either a stainless mesh wick or a silica wick and connecting the ends to neg and ***.

I had just about given up on tanks. I've used CE4's, Kanger Pro Tanks, Bottom coils, etc and hadn't found one I could more than tolerate till I got a Mini Vivi Nova. I love this tank. Great flavor, good hit, it's rebuildable, and I've ran about 6 or 7 fills through it and still tastes just as fresh as the day I bought it and I'm getting a couple of backups. I'm going either today or tomorrow to pick up my mod. I have a fantastic local vendor who's going to let me try a Vamo, SID, and a Lava Tube to let me see which one I like best.

guess ill wait for this before i do anything, but an ebay snipe has eaten my budget set aside for this till next month lol so i have time now anyway to figure out my initial setup

Help me solve a problem please... I want to try out some Cola flavours but I heard they destroy plastic cartomizers.
Any ideas what glass/pyrex cartomizers that would fit on the Triton batteries? I believe they are 808 threaded.
Thanks for any help, am learning but still out of my depth.

Cola flavors and darker juices will crack a tank.

Give that a shot. That will adapt a 510 style tank to fit on an 808 thread. I'd also recommend getting something Pyrex. Here's a good deal from FastTech. These are good tanks (I have a couple on the way).

Yup that is my worry. Would this work:

Not sure about the first link but once you get the adapter, the second should work. I'd go with a ProTank 2 if I were you. The drip tip on the PT1 gives everything a metallic taste. You can switch your drip tip on a PT2.

Don't quote me, but I'd say that would work. You might also consider the ProTank Mini 2 as well for a more uniform fit. I bought one of these
http://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10004956/1384900-x9-protank-atomizer-with-plastic-tank-2-5ml-sale

and one of these
http://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10005287/1423901-mini-protank-electronic-cigarette-atomizer-1-5ml

to try versus a ProTank. From reading the ECig forums, they're really comparable and the draw is a bit better.

Problem with those are they are plastic so the cola/citrus would crack them.

For anyone who's thought of getting an APV Here's a heck of a deal
http://www.purecigs.com/pro-series/121-smoktech-sid.html

Smoktech SID for $30 plus shipping. I couldn't resist. I ordered a blue one, another Mini Vivi Nova, an iClear 30, and another 18650 battery. If you buy it, you'll need a 18650 battery and charger, but at that price, it makes it easy.
thats a good start Dave. what would you add to finish off a complete system to go with that guy ?

I'd add 2 18650's (the Samsungs on that site are good)
I'd add either a Mini Vivi Nova or a Full Size Nova
and I'd add the $9.99 charger to get started. I wouldn't order juice from the US. Health Canada has apparently been seizing packages that contain E-Liquid. I'd pick some up locally
