Half a loaf of day old bread. Time for Bread Pudding!

I made some white bread that was less than impressive.
I liked it, but no one else did.
Ok, it may have been a bit dense I admit.

So, with half a loaf and no one eating it, it was time to make some bread pudding.

mmmmm good.

Don't discard day old bread. Make up some bread pudding!

Always loved a good stodgy bread pub. Cold, clammy and grey and it's at its best!

Probably the only good use I've ever found for white sliced apart from making a chip butty. Once tried making bread pud with a load of leftover plain Naan. Don't....

Add some dark rum to the custard et viola...rum 'n' raisin bread pudding.

Make with panetone and it's even better.

I have been using Paul Prudhomme's bread pudding recipe for years, which is with a Chanitlly cream served on top.

The recipe is a little different from the one that he put out before the World Wide Web came into being. One thing that was different was that he toasted the bread cubes, which I still do. The other is that he also served it with a lemon hard sauce in addition to the Chantilly cream. I save scrap pieces of bread just to make this!
