Just got one of my Ebay shopping streak razors in. I bid on a bunch thinking to start doing some restoration. I had just one TI until now. Turned out I won 4 items! More than I really needed but what the heck, I have some quality hobby time to spend.
Look at this baby it was sold back in the day at Montgomery Ward retail store for $14.48. I just paid $94 for it... oh well

+1 for that price should be shave ready and not a restore project. I'd say stick with B/S/T here and classifieds at Straight razor place and you can't go far wrong.

Please tell me you paid $94 for all four razors... That razor is teeny tiny for a Red Injun. They went for only $40 just 4 months ago on ebay. For 5/8 too. Got mine for $20.

For future reference one of the safest and more reliable places to buy is here on B/S/T or from one of the venders here. Don't feel bad, I've made far worse decisions then paying to much for a str8. BTW Welcome to B&B! Let us know how your projects turn out!

Yeah like I said it was a bit of bidding that went horribly wrong. Like you should not go buy groceries hungry, you shouldn't drink and go on ebay thinking to score a nice straight I learnt my lesson right now. This one is ready to go pretty soon, it is near mint, just need to hone and clean it. The others are more for restoration and did not pay anywhere this much
Thanks for the welcome, I've been around longer but was quiet for a good while. Expect some restoration pics from me soon!

it's definitely a very good razor and if that dark spot there is dirt it may come out really shiny with just a bit of a metal polish.

nice point too - i love them this sharp.

it's not all that much money, you'll be hard pressed to find a better shaver among the current production razors.

i personally would rather pay a bit more for something of such high quality even if it doesn't have the looks, than getting a killer deal on a 'just ok' razor.

it's just a bit surprising to me that a boker with such looks would go for that much on ebay, that's all.
