Nope. Person "A" in my first quote is the connection to Time Bandits, person "B" is in your first guess. Neither are David Warner.
I'm thinking that, and the context, gave it away. Is A John Gielgud addressing Dudley Moore in Arthur?

The second quote (sorry, been out for a couple days) is the one i remember. I think that's Roxanne. Havemt seen Time Bandits in a long enough time that i dont know the connection, but Ted would have been close with Steve Martin.
It is Roxanne, Shelley Duvall being the connection, and yeah, Steve Martin was a very near miss.
