Good luck, gentlemen! Myself i don't like thrillers. The only thing with candy and children i know, is Hansel and Gretel. 
That has got to be Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
I can't believe it! I have seen that film! But the "candy" threw me off! If the description was "chocolate", i might have found it!
one of my personal favorites:
2 con artists steal a map to a gold mine from 2 cutthroats on the lam. Impersonating the murderers in the Klondike, the conmen end up teaming up with the daughter of the mine's original owner all while being chased by the angry real killers. One of the conmen seemingly gives his life in order to save his comrades, only to turn up many years later very much alive.

Yes it is! The Road To and the Bond movies are the film franchises I can watch any movie and find something to enjoy. You are up!
