Welcome!
Thanks @Joshua223 and all others for the warm welcome!Welcome! What got you interested in straight razors?
My first experience with a straight razor was over 20 years ago. At the Christmas market in Cologne I was able to buy a really nice Puma straight razor and a strop. However, because I had no idea about the subject and the razor was probably not sharp either, my progress remained small and after a few attempts, the knife stayed in a drawer for more than 20 years. 18 months ago, I came on Dovo's website and saw their beautiful straight razors. I immediately caught fire again, sent my Puma to be sharpened and at the same time bought a knife from Ralf Aust.
I don't know what you're talking about! Most started with just one SR .
Don't let these maniacs convince you to buy a lot of stuff. I only have a handful of razors and I am quite content!
It doesn't seem physically possible that my hands could be four times the size of yours! Give it time, my friend...Good advice! I reckon I could hold about 20 straights in one hand; that seems like an ideal number!
Welcome to the crowd here. Don’t worry about boredom. I’m of the same ilk - many razors and few soaps. I see your avatar is a dachshund while mine is a Schnauzer.Yesterday I registered at Badger & Blades and introduced myself here in the Newbie Check-In. Now I just want to say "Hello" to the Straight Razor Crowd. My main interests are the straight razors themselves, of which I now have a mid double-digit number.
As for other equipment, I'm rather modest (2 strops, 2 brushes, and I try to keep no more than a handful of soaps and aftershave at a time). I hope you don't get bored with the frequent repetitions of the same stuff in the thread "What Straight Did You Use Today?".
I look forward to interesting discussions here.
Many Greetings from Germany
Michael
