Greek Soap

Has anyone tried Greek Soaps such as
Knossos of Crete, Patounis of Corfu, or
Papoutsanis. Papoutsanis Oliva is widely available in Europe. I ordered Papoutsanis
Karavaki, it was a tallow soap similar to Atkinson's soap from Italy.

We get various Greek olive oil soaps at our Greek grocery. Love the stuff, and it lasts a long time.

Can't shave with it of course...

I love Greek soaps. Used to get these from the Greek festivals, but no one carries them anymore...One is actually made in Crete, a labor cost move I would guess....

Used the Patounis Olive-Palm. Very similar to an authentic Savon de Marseille (olive-coconut). Both are excellent.

(Also used Patounis pure olive, but found it very prone to making mush.)

Papoutsanis Oliva is an Olive oil soap, it does kind of go mushy, goey...but then again I buy Moroccan soap which is not solid.

Old thread, but I’ll share my last bar of Greek soap purchased in Kamares, Sifnos, in July this year. Our ferry was late and I ran into the little grocery across from the beach and grabbed a couple bars of this fresh, lemon scented soap for €0.90 each.
