Greatess Lather ever?... I think so..

Hello Gents,
I thought i would just pass on a little information that i just cam across in my shaving journeys!
I have never really had a problem with getting the right lather but i do love to experiment!
So for the past week I have been shaving with :

Gillette Slim (Feather Blade)
VDH Deluxe SS
Mama Bears Rosemary Mint Shave Stick
Semogue 620 Shave Brush

I am a firm believer in the "prep" part of shaving, i think it the most important aspect of the shave.
So this week for my prep i have been washing my face as normal, but before i lather up, i rub the Mama Bears Shave stick on my beard area, then i rub it in with my hands again for about 1-2 mins.
I then proced to load my brush with the VDH (i face lather) and face lather as normal, and WOW!
In about 20 secs you have an explosion of lather! It's great!
The shaves have been super close with NO irritation at all, its like that style of prep really softens and and gets the beard ready for the shave.

Just thought i would pass that info on to anyone who is having trouble lathering or preping there face for a shave. let me know what you guys think!

I think I will give it a try with some other shave sticks I have.

I don't happen to own any Mama Bear stuff as of yet but it sounds like I will need to get some soon.

I'm a soap guy at heart but I've got the greatest lather with creams (Speick and Olivia's). The world can be so cruel

All you're doing is putting twice as much soap on your face, which of course is a pretty good way to ensure great lather.

True, but isn't that great! And the mixture of the glycerin based Mama Bears soap with the VDH is a great combo for some Superlather and of coarse you can mix it with creams as well.

Great for you that you're getting a good lather out of your technique! From what I'm reading it sounds a bit like Kyle's Prep minus the towel.

The combination of extra product plus facial wash plus massage are probably why your shaves are top notch! That ol Kyle knew what he was talking about...:thumbup1:

I have tried just using soaps and adding a couple of extra drops of glycerin into the lather. Makes a much more slick lather.

+1

i reckon if you did the same thing with one product only you would get the same results. it's all about enought product, in this case more is more.

+1 This sound a lot like Kyle's Shave prep.

It's not just more soap, the soap and oils are supposed to actually penetrate the hair shaft and soften the hair.
