A while back I was reading an article on Bon Apetite about some kind of wonderful new (at least I had never heard of it before) scrub brush, made from coconut fiber.
Coconut fiber???
Had to buy one; $6.99 from Amazon drop shipped from Japan. Showed up about a month later.
Briefly, this thing is GREAT! It blasts through all kinds of burnt on stuff welded to cookware. It was surely made for cast iron. Perfect for stainless steel; works just fine on Calphalon too. If you cook, you need one.

I bought one in the nineties to use as a vegetable scrub brush, good on fingernails too. Never tried using it on pots.

I've used this brush since the 50's 60's where I was raised in Hawaii. Lots of asians there as you can guess. I've purchased this brush at asian stores in California. Sometimes. Some have it, some don't. I haven't found it locally so I had to resort to Amazon. Hey, you can also put it in the dishwasher. Great scrub brush.
