I wish I could find a recording of one of my all time favorite covers. Ben Vereen did "New York State of Mind" on some talk show in the late 1970's. It could have been Dina Shore, Mike Douglas, or some such show, but I don't believe he ever recorded it or it has ever popped up on YouTube. It was tremendous.
